We report a 70-year-old man with a long-standing history of eruptive syringomas, including scattered plaque-type syringomas that raised clinical concern for basal cell carcinoma. We report a novel syndrome of aseptic myonecrosis in a child occurring after intramuscular (IM) benzathine penicillin G injection for the treatment of streptococcal pharyngitis. Common side effects of IM injection, including transient injection site pain and inflammation, are common and well described. However, isolated myonecrosis following IM injection in the pediatric patient has not been previously reported. Only one similar case, following IM diclofenac injection, has been discussed in the adult literature.

MATERIAL AND METHODS: Plasma homocysteine level was measured in 42 LV patients. Polymorphism of MTHFR (677C > T and 1298A > C), PAI1 (-675 5G/4G and -844A > G), and F2 (20210G > A), and the F5 Leiden mutation, as well as biochemical parameters for hypercoagulability, were analysed.

BACKGROUND: The outflow of pancreatic juice into the duodenum is often impaired in pancreatic inflammatory diseases. The basis of interventional treatment in these cases is anatomical transpapillary access of the main pancreatic duct during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), which ensures the physiological outflow of pancreatic juice into the lumen of the digestive tract.
