BACKGROUND: Substance abuse continues to be a major public health problem. Keeping substance abusers in treatment is a challenge, and researchers continue to investigate ways to increase retention.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between impulsivity in substance abusers and length of stay in the context of therapeutic community.
METHODS: The Barratt Impulsiveness Scale- 11 (BIS-11) was used to assess impulsivity in 138 substance abusers at admission and at nine months in a therapeutic community.

Identifying effective therapeutic targets for Parkinson's disease (PD) is challenging, with no current disease-modifying therapies available. To address this, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research launched the Targets to Therapies (T2T) initiative, uniting experts to prioritize and validate promising targets. T2T aims to develop validation strategies, create comprehensive target data profiles, and build tools to support drug development, ultimately accelerating the discovery of new therapies for PD patients.

Frailty and the consequent risk of falls represent significant challenges for community-dwelling older adults, often leading to severe injuries, functional decline, and loss of independence. Falls typically result from multiple interacting risk factors, many of which are modifiable through targeted interventions. This mini-review focuses on evidence from randomized controlled trials evaluating effective therapeutic strategies to prevent frailty and falls. Between february and december 1990, we attempted percutaneous closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in 26 patients and in one ostium secundum atrial septal defect (ASD). One of the PDA was right sided with right aortic arch and two were post surgical leaks.
