Deep learning based on multiparametric MRI for differentiating benign from malignant PI-RADS 3 prostate lesions: a dual-center study.

To address the diagnostic challenge of indeterminate PI-RADS 3 prostate lesions, we developed a non-invasive deep learning radiomics model using multiparametric MRI. This dual-center retrospective study included 382 patients. Lesions on T2WI, DWI, and ADC were segmented and standardized. Deep learning features were extracted via ResNet101, and radiomics features were selected using minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance (mRMR) and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO). We built and compared three models: clinical, deep-learning radiomics signature (DLRS), and a combined model.

A deep learning-assisted whole-cell biosensor for catechol monitoring: Synergizing BphC recognition with a multi-feature fusion vision transformer.

Catechol (Cat) quantification typically requires benchtop instrumentation, restricting its application for on-site environmental analysis. To address this, we developed a portable image-based biosensing platform that integrates a genetically engineered whole-cell biocatalyst with a Multi-Feature Fusion Vision Transformer (MF-ViT). An Escherichia coli strain expressing 2,3-dihydroxybiphenyl-1,2-dioxygenase (BphC) was constructed to specifically convert Cat into a measurable yellow product. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations provided a structural rationale for the sensor's anal

Patient-specific instantaneous spatial temperature maps for MR-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy using a physics-assisted deep learning framework.

PURPOSE: Accurate prediction of the laser energy absorption and corresponding thermal spread is essential for safe and effective outcomes in magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MRgLITT), as it enables clinicians to anticipate thermal spread and ensure complete ablation of the epileptogenic focus while minimizing collateral damage. However, current planning tools rely on simplified models that neglect patient-specific anatomy and the cooling effects of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), often resulting in incomplete or asymmetric ablations. To address these limitations, this w

Towards quality control and harmonization of deep learning CT radiomics: An in-silico feasibility study with virtual colorectal liver metastases.

BACKGROUND: Radiomic imaging biomarkers are increasingly studied in oncology as a means to support disease prognosis and personalized treatment planning. While deep learning (DL) offers scalable alternatives to handcrafted radiomic features, DL-derived biomarkers are sensitive to variations in image acquisition protocols and scanner hardware-even within a single imaging modality. To ensure reliable and reproducible biomarker estimation, it is essential to (1) provide clinicians with quantitative uncertainty estimates associated with biomarker predictions, and (2) address acquisition-induced va

Deep learning augmented pathological grading and intraductal carcinoma of the prostate signatures improve recurrence prediction after intensity-modulated radiation therapy.

Locally advanced prostate cancer (PCa) is associated with a high recurrence rate even after curative treatment. We aimed to develop a precise risk model by integrating the status of intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC-P) and the International Society of Urological Pathology Grade Group (ISUP GG) with deep learning (DL)-based grading to predict clinical recurrence after intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Furthermore, we identified key pathological features associated with IDC-P. We retrospectively analyzed 165 patients treated with high-dose IMRT for high- and very high-risk P

Deep learning-driven MRI segmentation of choroid plexus volume: a novel biomarker for cognitive impairment in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

BACKGROUND: Impaired glymphatic function has been linked to cognitive impairment in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, it remains unclear whether changes in choroid plexus volume (CPV), a critical component of the glymphatic system, are associated with cognitive impairment in T2DM. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between CPV changes and cognitive function, and identify factors independently associated with CPV alterations. METHODS: In this prospective cohort study, 71 T2DM patients and 111 HC underwent 3T MRI scanning. CPV was automatically segmented from 3D T1-weighted
