Research status and frontiers of renal denervation for hypertension: a bibliometric analysis from 2004 to 2023.

BACKGROUND: Renal Denervation (RDN) is a novel non-pharmacological technique to treat hypertension. This technique lowers blood pressure by blocking the sympathetic nerve fibers around the renal artery, then causing a decrease in system sympathetic nerve excitability. This study aimed to visualize and analyze research hotspots and development trends in the field of RDN for hypertension through bibliometric analysis. METHODS: In total, 1479 studies were retrieved on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2004 to 2023. Using CiteSpace (6.2.R4) and VOSviewer (1.6.18), visualiza

The pattern and diagnostic criteria of sensory neuronopathy: a case-control study.

Acquired sensory neuronopathies encompass a group of paraneoplastic, dysimmune, toxic or idiopathic disorders characterized by degeneration of peripheral sensory neurons in dorsal root ganglia. As dorsal root ganglia cannot easily be explored, the clinical diagnosis of these disorders may be difficult. The question as to whether there exists a common clinical pattern of sensory neuronopathies, allowing the establishment of validated and easy-to-use diagnostic criteria, has not yet been addressed. In this study, logistic regression was used to construct diagnostic criteria on a retrospective st

Exploring the Regenerative Role of Exosomes as a Potential Therapy for Peripheral Nerve Injury: A Systematic Review.

Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles loaded with bioactive cargo that mediate intercellular communication. Their emerging role in tissue regeneration has garnered increasing attention, especially in the context of peripheral nerve injury (PNI), which poses a significant therapeutic challenge. Although many studies have explored exosome-based therapies for PNI, the findings are often fragmented and lack a comprehensive synthesis. This systematic review aims to synthesize the current evidence and elucidate the molecular mechanisms through which exosomes contribute to neural regeneratio

Cholecalciferol in ethanol-preferring rats muscle fibers increases the number and area of type II fibers.

The chronic use of ethanol causes neuropathy and atrophy of type II fibers and promotes vitamin D decrease. This study evaluated cholecalciferol effects on the deep fibular nerve and extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscle using an UChB ethanol-preferring rats model. Blood analyses were carried out to measure levels of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25(OH)D), calcium (Ca2+), Phosphorus (P), and parathyroid hormone (PTH). It was used EDL muscle to evaluate oxidative stress. The deep fibular nerve and EDL muscle were used for morphologic and morphometric assessment. 25(OH)D plasma levels were higher

[Anti-Hu antibody-positive paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis with acute motor sensory neuropathy resembling Guillain-Barré syndrome: a case study].

A 69-year-old man experienced general malaise, weight loss, amnesia, gait disturbance, and restlessness a month prior to admission. Brain MRI showed high intensity areas in the bilateral medial temporal lobes and insular cortices on FLAIR images, and therefore, he was diagnosed with limbic encephalitis. After admission, quadriplegia and respiratory failure progressed rapidly, and he needed ventilatory management. A nerve conduction study revealed low compound muscle action potential amplitude with loss of sensory nerve action potential, which indicated axonal sensorimotor neuropathy. We admini

[Effects of transcranial magneto-acoustic electrical stimulation on calcium signals in prefrontal nerve clusters].

Transcranial magneto-acoustic electrical stimulation (TMAES) is a novel method of brain nerve regulation and research, which uses induction current generated by the coupling of ultrasound and magnetic field to regulate neural electrical activity in different brain regions. As the second special envoy of nerve signal, calcium plays a key role in nerve signal transmission. In order to investigate the effect of TMAES on prefrontal cortex electrical activity, 15 mice were divided into control group, ultrasound stimulation (TUS) group and TMAES group. The TMAES group received 2.6 W/cm 2 and 0.3 T o
