Current practice in the management of ischemic priapism: an anonymous survey of ISSM members.

Penile shunting is the standard of care in management of ischemic priapism refractory (IPR) to non-surgical interventions. Due to high rates of impotence, corporal fibrosis, and loss of penile length, recent literature suggests these patients benefit from immediate penile prosthesis (PP) placement. An IRB-exempt anonymous electronic survey of the 2168 members of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) was conducted. The survey included demographic information, confidence, and experience-related management of IPR. The aim was to evaluate current practice patterns in management of I

Consensus on Behavioral Strategies for Adults with Obesity from the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity.

Behavioral modification is a core component of obesity treatment. Many established behavioral programs have been developed within Western cultural and healthcare contexts; however, they may not directly translate to Korean lifestyles, eating patterns, and clinical settings. Thus, we used a consensus-based process to develop culturally adapted behavioral strategies for obesity management in Korean adults to address this gap. A modified nominal group technique was used to generate and refine behavioral strategies. A panel of experts independently proposed candidate strategies, which were subsequ

Osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis is a heterogeneous whole-joint disease that can cause pain and is a leading cause of disability and premature work loss. The predominant disease risk factors - obesity and joint injury - are well recognized and modifiable. A greater understanding of the complex mechanisms, including inflammatory, metabolic and post-traumatic processes, that can lead to disease and of the pathophysiology of pain is helping to delineate mechanistic targets. Currently, management is primarily focused on alleviating the main symptoms of pain and obstructed function through lifestyle interventions su

Humanistic Health Management and Cancer: Associations of Psychology, Nutrition, and Exercise with Cancer Progression and Pathogenesis.

The incidence rate of cancer is increasing year by year due to the aging of the population, unhealthy living, and eating habits. At present, surgery and medication are still the main treatments for cancer, without paying attention to the impact of individual differences in health management on cancer. However, increasing evidence suggests that individual psychological status, dietary habits, and exercise frequency are closely related to the risk and prognosis of cancer. The reminder to humanity is that the medical concept of the unified treatment plan is insufficient in cancer treatment, and a
