Adaptive sliding mode controller based on improved Sparrow search algorithm for tracking control of human lower limb exoskeleton.

This study presents an Adaptive Sliding Mode Controller enhanced by an Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm (ISSA-SMC) for accurate motion tracking of lower-limb assistive exoskeletons. By incorporating human joint torque inputs into the exoskeleton's dynamic model, ISSA-SMC achieves real-time adaptation to user variability, external disturbances, and modeling uncertainties. A softmax strategy combined with the branch and bound method efficiently optimizes controller parameters, enhancing tracking accuracy and robustness with low computational cost. Effectiveness is validated through simulations

On the use of principal component analysis method to optimize sphere packing algorithm for lattice radiotherapy of large/bulky unresectable tumor.

BACKGROUND: Spatially Fractionated Radiotherapy (SFRT) delivers highly heterogenous dose distribution, characterized by an alternating pattern of high- and low-dose regions within the large tumor volume. Lattice SFRT (LRT) achieves this dose distribution via high-dose spheres arranged in a hexagonal pattern throughout the tumor. A major obstacle in LRT planning is optimizing the number of spheres within the tumor while maintaining the geometric constraints to allow for steep dose gradients and preserving normal tissue dose levels. PURPOSE: We present a novel strategy for lattice deployment fo

Testing ACL-Reconstructed Football Players on the Field: An Algorithm to Assess Cutting Biomechanics Injury Risk Through Wearable Sensors.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in football mostly occur during defensive (pressing) cut maneuvers. Football-specific cutting movements are key to identifying dangerous biomechanics but hard to evaluate clinically. This study aimed to develop a practical field-based tool-Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury Risk Profile Detection (ACL-IRD)-to assess ACL injury risk during return to sport (RTS). It was hypothesized that the ACL-IRD could detect ACL injury risk profiles after ACLR players had RTS clearance. Sixty-one footballers (21 ACLR, 40 healthy; 16.2 ± 2.2 years old, >14 months post-
