What do students really gain from physical education? The QPE4PLimpact as a situational measure of physical literacy in high school.

INTRODUCTION: Existing physical literacy (PL) assessment tools primarily evaluate enduring traits and provide limited insight into students' immediate experiences during physical education (PE) lessons. This study aimed to develop and validate the QPE4PLimpact, a questionnaire designed to assess the situational impact of PE lessons on high school students' PL. Grounded in a monist and phenomenological perspective, PL was conceptualized as an embodied and contextual construct encompassing physical, psychological-affective, cognitive, and social domains. METHODS: Questionnaire development follo

The Helping Alliance Questionnaire for Children and Their Caregivers-Validation in a German Sample of Pediatric Chronic Pain Patients.

OBJECTIVES: The "helping alliance" between patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals (HCPs) plays an important role in the evaluation of therapeutic interventions. The aim of this study was to develop a German version of the Helping Alliance Questionnaire for pediatric patients (HAQ-P) and caregivers (HAQ-CG). METHODS: The questionnaire was adapted from the original version of the HAQ for adults and improved using feedback from HCPs, patients with chronic pain and their caregivers. It was then validated in a sample of N = 216 patients with chronic pain aged 8-17 years, along with the

The Inclusive Sexual Function Index (ISFI): Adaptation and Validation in a Sample Diverse Across Racial/Ethnic, Sexual, and Gender Identities.

Sexual function is crucially important to overall health, including for people of all racial/ethnic, sexual, and gender identities. As such, measurement scales for sexual function that include multiple marginalized communities need to be developed and evaluated. This study aimed to adapt the Female Sexual Function Index to enhance its relevance and applicability with more diverse populations. The resulting Inclusive Sexual Function Index (ISFI) was then validated with a racially diverse LGBTQIA+ sample. Participants (N = 1,947) who identified as having one or a combination of marginalized iden

Appreciation of Social Experiences and Solitude in Everyday Life: The SOcial Experiences' daiLy Occurrence Scale (SOLO).

While social interactions and actively chosen solitude both contribute to well-being, existing measures focus solely on one dimension. We developed the SOcial experiences' daiLy Occurrence (SOLO) scale-a brief end-of-day diary measure capturing enjoyment of social interactions (including brief encounters with "weak ties") and solitude experiences. Two scale development and validation studies were conducted: single-day (N = 203) and 14-day (N = 75) assessments. The final SOLO consists of 13 items forming two scales, the Social Interaction subscale and the Solitude subscale. Both scales demonstr

Development and Validation of the Parent-Report Youth Psychopathic Traits Inventory-Short Version (PR-YPI-S) for Assessing Psychopathic Traits in Early Childhood.

Studying psychopathy in early childhood is crucial for understanding its developmental pathways, identifying risk factors, and implementing early intervention. However, assessment measures for this age group remain limited. To address this gap, this study developed and validated the Parent-Report Youth Psychopathic Traits Inventory-Short Version (PR-YPI-S) by adapting YPI-S self-report items for parental reports of psychopathic traits in early childhood. 304 parents of children aged 3 to 6 years were recruited from kindergartens/preschools in Tehran, Iran, and completed study measures. Validation of the German Version of the Creative Imagination Scale (CIS) in Individuals with Mild to Moderate Depressive Symptoms: A Comparison with the HGSHS-5:G.

Imaginative suggestibility is an important component of hypnotic responsiveness. However, a validated German version of the Creative Imagination Scale (CIS) is lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties and convergent validity of the German CIS against the short form of the Harvard Group Scale of Hypnotic Susceptibility (HGSHS-5:G) in individuals with mild to moderate depressive symptoms. In this post hoc validation study, the German CIS was evaluated using reliability analyses, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, and mixed polychoric-tetrachoric correlations w

Translation and Linguistic Validation into Spanish of the Owner-Reported Outcome Measure "Helsinki Chronic Pain Index" (HCPI).

Due to the challenges in evaluating chronic pain in dogs, owner-reported outcome measures have been developed, such as the Helsinki Chronic Pain Index (HCPI), originally written in Finnish and published in English, limiting its use among Spanish-speaking veterinarians and owners/caretakers. The goal of this study was to obtain an equivalent Spanish version of the HCPI. The translation process followed established guidelines. First, two native Spanish speakers independently translated the HCPI from English to Spanish. A veterinary professional and a third translator then compared the translatio

Dispositional threat sensitivity as a liability for fear-related pathologies: Evidence from a child-aged twin sample.

Threat sensitivity, an individual difference construct reflecting variation in responsiveness to threats of various types, predicts physiological reactivity to aversive stimuli and shares heritable variance with anxiety disorders in adults. However, no research has been conducted yet with youth to examine the heritability of threat sensitivity or evaluate the role of genetic versus environmental influences in its relations with mental health problems. The current study addressed this gap by evaluating the psychometric properties of a measure of this construct, the 20-item Trait Fear scale (TF-
