ATR-FTIR spectroscopy coupled with deep learning for the identification and quantitative detection of Panax notoginseng adulteration.

The high medicinal value, strong market demand, and premium price of Panax notoginseng have led to frequent adulteration in Chinese retail markets, posing serious risks to consumer health and food safety. However, existing adulteration detection methods are often limited by low efficiency and high costs, restricting their applicability for large-scale quality screening of Panax notoginseng products. This study aims to develop a rapid and cost-effective approach integrating attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy with deep learning for accurate identificat

Panax notoginseng saponins alleviates metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease in mice by influencing Nrf2/MT2.

BACKGROUND: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a metabolic liver injury driven largely by oxidative stress. The nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway plays a central role in antioxidant defense, and metallothionein-2 (MT2) is a potential downstream target. Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but their effects on MASLD via Nrf2/MT2 signaling remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether PNS exerts protective effects against MASLD through Nrf2/MT2 signaling pathway. METHODS: Apolip

Metabolic Profiling of Panax notoginseng Saponins in Rat Feces Under Colitis by UHPLC-QTOF-MS/MS.

The biotransformation of Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) is pertinent to the effect of colitis mediated by gut microbiota, which has variant microbes and diversities in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs). However, the metabolic profiles of PNS mediated by gut microbiota are ambiguous under the pathological condition in vivo. Therefore, it is meaningful to explore the metabolic profiling of PNS mediated by gut microbiota under colitis in vivo. In this study, an ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QTOF-MS/MS) method was employed
