Amylose-tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) (ADMPC) and aminopropylated silica gel(APS) were prepared after the reported methods. ADMPC was immobilized on APS from tetrahydrofuran solution with a coating amount of 15%. The chiral stationary phase was packed in a stainless-steel column(150 mm x 4.6 mm i.d.) by slurry method. The column was used for the enantioseparation of 6 glycerin monosulfides and 4 glycerin bisulfides. Mixtures of hexane and 2-propanol were used as mobile phases. The enantiomers of the monosulfides could be separated quite well, while those of the bisulfides could not at all.

The separation of six pairs of chiral cannabinoids was achieved using a dimethylphenylcarbamate derivative of amylose, immobilized on silica gel (ChiralPak AD, Daicel), using 2-propanol and ethanol as the modifiers of n-hexane in the mobile phase. Good separation was achieved for most of the solutes in both solvent systems under various conditions. The chromatographic parameters of various cannabinoids in the two solvent systems were determined. The pairs differ from each other in small structural features such as the degree of saturation, position of a double bond and closure of a pyran ring.

The occurrence of mania in the geriatric population is rare. Furthermore, there were only six case reports of elderly patients with secondary mania resulting from treatment with cholinesterase inhibitors. In all cases, patients had a prior psychiatric history. We report the case of an elderly patient with no prior history of psychiatric or other organic disorders who experienced first episode mania following treatment with rivastigmine. We discuss the possible mechanism of mania in this patient.

Chromosomal region maintenance protein 1 (CRM1) is a validated anticancer drug target, and its covalent inhibitor KPT-330 has been approved for marketing.
