A randomized controlled clinical trial of the effect of positive psychology on childbearing Intention and Stages of behavior change in reproductive age women.

BACKGROUND: In contemporary societies, delayed childbearing and declining fertility rates have emerged as prominent reproductive behavior patterns globally. This demographic shift has precipitated significant population aging trends, presenting substantial socioeconomic challenges. GPT-Powered Chatbot-Based Positive Psychology Intervention for Well-Being Among Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder: Single-Arm Mixed Methods Study.

BACKGROUND: Parents of autistic children frequently experience elevated stress levels, depressive symptoms, and reduced well-being. Positive psychology interventions (PPIs) can strengthen resilience, and chatbots offer a scalable channel through which such skills can be delivered. However, evidence on the evaluation of large language model-guided PPI-based chatbots for this population is limited. OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the feasibility and acceptability of a GPT-powered chatbot ("Allie"). This study was designed to deliver culturally adapted PPIs to parents of autistic children and to

Positive Psychology Interventions in Early-Stage Cognitive Decline Related to Dementia: A Systematic Review of Cognitive and Brain Functioning Outcomes of Mindfulness Interventions.

Background: Dementia is a global condition affecting over 55 million people. Since there is no treatment, non-pharmacological interventions aim to delay its progression in a safe and cost-effective way. The extant literature suggests that Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) can probably be effective for this purpose. The systematic review aims to assess the effectiveness of PPIs as non-pharmacological interventions for mild cognitive decline related to dementia by evaluating their effectiveness in cognitive functions and brain functioning in people with Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD),

PsicoCare: a pilot randomized controlled trial testing a psychological intervention combining cognitive-behavioral treatment and positive psychology therapy in acute coronary syndrome patients.

BACKGROUND: Although psychological factors play a significant role in the onset and prognosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), psychological interventions (PIs) are rarely included in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs due to inconclusive evidence regarding specific intervention components and effect sizes. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a PI based on cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) and positive psychology therapy (PPT) in improving psychological and clinical outcomes in patients with ACS. METHODS: This PsicoCare trial was an open-label randomized controlled trial that com

Positive Psychology Interventions for Improving Self-management Behaviors in Patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes: a Narrative Review of Current Evidence.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Interests have been emerging in using positive psychology interventions (PPIs) to improve diabetes self-management (DSM) behaviors (e.g., blood glucose monitoring, physical activity). To explore the impact of those interventions on DSM behaviors, we summarized the evidence of PPIs on self-management behaviors among both type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients between 2012 and 2022. RECENT FINDINGS: Among the eight studies identified, different study designs and types of PPIs were apparent. Typical PPIs (e.g., activities enhancing positive affect/gratitude/s

Preference for Hedonic Goals in Fibromyalgia; Is It Always an Avoidance Mechanism? Looking the Relationship with Pain Acceptance from a Positive Psychology Perspective.

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of openness to experience on pain acceptance through positive affect (PA) considering the moderating role of preference for mood management goals in women with fibromyalgia (FM). A cross-sectional study (n = 231) was carried out. A simple mediation model and a moderate mediation model were conducted by SPSS macro-PROCESS. Results showed that PA mediated positively the effect of openness to experience on acceptance (B = 0.46, SE = 0.80, t = 5,59; 95% CI = [0.3016, 0.6298], p < .001) and that the contribution of openness to experience to PA varied

METHODS: Patients with BD were randomized to receive TAU (n = 43) or the PPI in addition to TAU (n = 54). The primary outcome was well being measured with the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form. Personal recovery was measured with the Questionnaire a

Factors influencing the response of psychological symptoms to continuous positive airway pressure therapy.

PURPOSE: To examine whether in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients the degree of sleepiness, slow-wave sleep (SWS) loss, and hypoxia influence the response of psychological symptoms to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. METHODS: A prospectively planned cohort was assessed. Participants underwent full overnight polysomnography. All answered the Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90) and the Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS). Only cases with an apnea-hypopnea index ≤60 events/h were 24 invited to participate. In an interview by telephone, after a follow-up period between 2 month

The impact of intergenerational transmission of stigma on the psychological development of minors with HIV-positive parents.

With the widespread adoption of antiretroviral therapy, HIV infection has become a chronic, manageable condition, and the population of HIV-positive parents continues to grow. The stigma linked to their condition passes down to their minor children within the family. This harms the children's mental health and makes it harder to prevent and control HIV. This review explores the patterns and mechanisms of intergenerational transmission. It uses stigma theory and ecological systems theory. By examining evidence from around the world and within China, it highlights transmission features and how t

Positive impacts of psychological pain treatments: Supplementary analyses of a randomized clinical trial.

OBJECTIVE: Clinical trials often focus on symptom reduction as a primary outcome, overlooking positive psychology factors of potential importance although many individuals can and do live well with pain. The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) Psychosocial Illness Impact-Positive (PIIP) scale assesses perceptions of adaptive psychosocial functioning (e.g., coping and meaning-making) after illness onset. This study evaluated the effects of hypnosis (HYP), mindfulness meditation (MM), and pain psychoeducation (ED) on PIIP scores, using data from a completed randomiz

Behavior and psychological functioning of young children of HIV-positive mothers in South Africa.

Adults with HIV are living longer due to earlier diagnosis and increased access to antiretroviral medications. Therefore, fewer young children are being orphaned and instead, are being cared for by parents who know they are HIV positive, although they may be asymptomatic. Presently, it is unclear whether the psychological functioning of these young children is likely to be affected or, alternatively, whether it is only when a mother is ill, that children suffer adverse effects. We, thus, aimed to compare the behavior and psychological functioning of young children (aged 6-10 years) of HIV-posi
