Extracorporeal hemadsorption may reduce inflammatory reaction in cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) surgery. The brain death is usually associated with generalized ischaemia due to a hyperactivity of the sympathetic system. The effect of adenylate cyclase activators on C5a- and f-Met-Leu-Phe-induced human neutrophil aggregation, enzyme release and superoxide production was investigated.
