Optimization of flavonoids extraction and elucidation of antioxidant mechanisms in Dendrobium flexicaule using metabolomics and machine learning.

Recent studies have demonstrated that flavonoids constitute a major class of bioactive compounds in Dendrobium species, contributing significantly to their pharmacological properties. However, the underutilization of flavonoids from Dendrobium is largely attributable to two interrelated bottlenecks: (1) the absence of systematic phytochemical screening to identify high-flavonoid germplasm resources, and (2) the lack of robust, scalable extraction protocols optimized for both yield and reproducibility. To address these limitations, this study first employed untargeted metabolomics to comparativ

Transcriptome analysis reveals the role of polysaccharide biosynthesis in the detoxification of Dendrobium nobile under zinc stress.

Plants can bind excessive heavy metals by synthesizing compounds to alleviate the harm caused by heavy metals. To reveal the mechanism by which Dendrobium nobile alleviates zinc stress, metabolome combined transcriptome analysis was used in this research. The results showed that zinc was mainly enriched in the roots and leaves and the biomass of the roots and leaves of D. nobile decreased significantly by 18.21 % and 49.22 % (P < 0.05) compared to the control (CK), respectively. Meanwhile, the contents of nonprotein thiol(NPT), glutathione(GSH), and phytochelatins (PCs) in the roots were signi

Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide inhibits M1 macrophage polarization via activating SENP1-SIRT3 signaling and alleviates ulcerative colitis.

Macrophage polarization is closely associated with the onset and progression of various diseases, including ulcerative colitis (UC). Previous studies have demonstrated that Dendrobium officinale polysaccharides (DOPS) exert a significant anti-inflammatory effect. However, the potential of DOPS to suppress inflammation by regulating macrophage polarization has not yet been reported. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of DOPS on macrophage polarization and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Our findings indicate that DOPS significantly promotes the polarization of macrophage

Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide ameliorates polycystic ovary syndrome via regulating butyrate dependent gut-brain-ovary axis mechanism.

Research has shown that dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) can promote follicular development and inhibit the apoptosis of ovarian granular cells in PCOS rats. However, DOP cannot be absorbed directly by the stomach and small intestine but is degraded into short-chain fatty acids by gut microbiota in the large intestine and regulates the composition of gut microbiota. How DOP improved ovarian function in PCOS rats through the blood-brain barrier is unclear. In this study, we generated letrozole-induced PCOS rat models and studied the therapeutic effect and mechanism of DOP. 16S rRNA am
