No impact of story context and avatar power on performance in a stop-signal game.

This study investigates the impact of gamification on response inhibition in a Stop-Signal Task (SST) and examines participants' gamification experience. The findings reveal that, after accounting for approach- and avoidance-motivation as well as impulsiveness, higher immersion is associated with impaired response inhibition. This effect could be attributed to a substantial decline in immersion between the first and second SST sessions. Despite intrinsic motivation and avatar identification not significantly predicting performance, both factors exhibited a decline across sessions, suggesting a

Robotic March Madness: A Gamified Approach to Enhancing Resident Engagement in Robotic Surgical Simulation.

INTRODUCTION: Modern robotic surgical education typically incorporates simulation-an instructional strategy that provides residents a low-risk environment to learn specific robot skills, receive immediate feedback, and engage in deliberate, metric-guided practice. Despite these benefits, limited trainee engagement is a barrier to robotic simulation achieving its full potential. Gamification, the application of game design principles, has been shown to increase motivation and voluntary practice in medical education, prompting consideration of how it might be deployed to increase engagement with

[Digital technologies and strategies in amputation medicine].

Surgical techniques in amputation medicine did not change for a long time, while prosthesis technology underwent rapid development. The focus shifted to optimising the residual limb for prostheses use. At the same time, digital technologies such as gamification, virtual and mixed reality revolutionised rehabilitation. The use of gamification elements increases motivation and adherence to therapy, while immersive technologies enable realistic and interactive therapy experiences. This is particularly useful in the context of controlling modern prostheses and treating phantom pain. In addition, d
