To facilitate access to care for HIV-infected women, a maternal-child program was started at an HIV outpatient clinic in New Orleans. The program consisted of free child care and transportation, separate waiting and examination rooms, female care providers, merged visits for mother and child, and on-site colposcopy services. A multicomponent health education intervention for men was integrated into initial visits at the Young Men's Clinic in New York City. BACKGROUND: This prospective, cohort study is the first to describe 5 health behaviors of head and neck cancer patients the first year after diagnosis.
METHODS: Patients (N = 283) were recruited in otolaryngology clinic waiting rooms and asked to complete written surveys. A medical record audit was also conducted.
