A Comparative Analysis of Sector Classification and the Impacted Canine Grading System by Kumar and Daigavane in Patients With Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate Utilizing Orthopantomogram (OPG) as a Diagnostic Tool.

Introduction Non-syndromic oral clefts, affecting one in 700 newborns in India, are the most prevalent craniofacial anomalies, with genetic or environmental causes impacting various life aspects. Studies indicate higher dental disturbances, particularly impacted canines, in cleft lip and palate (CLP) patients compared to non-cleft individuals. Impacted canines, trapped by hard tissues, require early diagnosis to prevent orthodontic issues. The widely used Ericson and Kurol method employs orthopantomograms (OPGs) to classify canine impaction in typical children. However, diagnosing canines in C

A retrospective study of isolated fractures of the alveolar process in the permanent dentition.

BACKGROUND/AIM: There is a lack of studies of fractures of the alveolar process (FAP). Only five were published in the last 50 years. The aim of this study was to analyze the risk of pulp necrosis and infection (PN), pulp canal obliteration (PCO), infection-related root resorption (IRR), ankylosis-related resorption (ARR), marginal bone loss (MBL), and tooth loss (TL) as well as to identify the possible risk factors for teeth involved in an isolated alveolar process fracture. In the second part, any late complications of the involved teeth were reported in patients who responded to a follow-up

Endodontic outcome predictors identified with periapical radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography scans.

INTRODUCTION: The outcome predictors identified with data from periapical radiographs (PA) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans might not be the same. This retrospective study evaluated various factors that might affect the outcome of root canal therapy. METHODS: In total, 115 teeth (143 roots) with vital pulps were endodontically treated and followed up 2 years after treatment. Multivariate logistic regression was performed on the data from PA or CBCT to analyze outcome predictors. RESULTS: At recall, PA detected periapical lesions in 18 roots (12.6%), as compared with 37 on CBCT

[The kinetics of apical cicatrization. An experimental study apropos of 25 cases with radiologic imaging].

The conventional usage of endo-canalar antiseptic of Rockle's type (SEPTODONT Laboratory) and the application of a standard protocol during two seances have shown: a 68% successful rate of healing at six months post therapeutic follow up, the diameter decrease of radiological images of peri-apical lesions, more than 80% in relative value; for about 20 teeth drawned lots (in a prospective study). This reduction of 33% at least at the maxillary and 50% at the mandible may be a reliable indicator for an endodontic surgical decision or fixed prosthetic rehabilitation report since the third month (

Influence of temporal delay in SWEEPS dual-pulse Er: YAG laser-activated irrigation on fluid dynamics in confined domain environment: an in vitro study.

The shock wave-enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS) technique delivers synchronized dual-pulse Er: YAG laser energy to enhance fluid dynamics during laser-activated irrigation. The temporal delay (Tp) between consecutive pulses is a key parameter, but its influence on fluid dynamics within a confined root canal environment remains unclear. This in vitro study investigated the effects of different Tp settings on bubble morphology and transient apical peak pressure (TAPP) in a simulated root canal model. A transparent single-rooted resin anterior tooth model (apical diameter: 0.30

Minimally invasive guided endodontic microsurgery with Zekrya bur: A 48-month follow-up case report.

Endodontic microsurgery guided by navigation systems represents a precise and minimally invasive approach for retreatment of apical periodontitis following failed conventional endodontic therapy. Accurate localization and minimal access to the root apex are paramount for successful outcomes and preservation of anatomical structures. Workflow considerations, such as three-dimensional (3D) virtual planning and endodontic guidance represent new crucial aspects for addressing complex cases. This clinical case report presents the successful reintervention of a complex case using a Zekrya bur, opera
