Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) was used to analyze vapors generated directly above pharmaceutical solids warmed in air to 100-200 degrees C. Vapors were characterized by IMS/mass spectrometry to evaluate the air-based atmospheric pressure chemical ionization of components in analgesic medicines. Lung ultrasound makes use of artifacts generated by the ratio of air and fluid in the lung. Recently, an enormous increase of research regarding lung ultrasound emerged, especially in intensive care units. The use of lung ultrasound on the neonatal intensive care unit enables the clinician to gain knowledge about the respiratory condition of the patients, make quick decisions, and reduces exposure to ionizing radiation. In this narrative review, the possibilities of lung ultrasound for the stabilization and resuscitation of the neonate using the ABCDE algorithm will be discussed.

Water's view plain film radiography was compared with ultrasonography in the diagnosis of acute maxillary sinusitis in 50 patients at the Radiology Department of King Hussein Medical Centre in Jordan with clinical diagnosis of acute sinusitis. Ultrasound showed 100% concordance with plain radiographs reported as showing complete opacifications or an air fluid level, the only reliable plain film indicator of an inflamed antrum. We conclude that ultrasonography, which is non-ionizing, can provide an alternative to plain radiography in the initial investigation of maxillary sinusitis.

A gas chromatographic analysis for vinyl acetate is presented. Vinyl acetate was sampled by adsorbing on activated carbon. It was desorbed with carbon disulfide with a mean efficiency of 83.0%. The contamination of the air with radioactive elements (radon-222 and its decay products) occurs in coal, metal ore and chemical raw materials underground mines. This causes irradiation of the miner's respiratory system with ionizing radiation. We conducted a comprehensive radiation hazard assessment of the Tokyo Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020, postponed to 2021). Our combined experimental and literature study focused on both external and internal exposure to ionizing radiation for athletes and visitors of the Games.
