Underlying Medical Conditions and Severe Illness Among 540,667 Adults Hospitalized With COVID-19, March 2020-March 2021.

INTRODUCTION: During the COVID-19 pandemic, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) emergency allotments and emergency rent assistance provided support to low-income households. Rent burden, a form of housing insecurity, can severely limit household resources, which, in turn, affects health equity. We explored whether these policy interventions equitably supported households that were or were not experiencing rent burden. METHODS: We used data from the US Household Pulse Survey (June 2022-May 2023) to examine whether associations between emergency support policies and indicators of f

Infertility affects 15% of couples in reproductive age worldwide. In women in particular, infertility can be caused by various abnormalities, with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) being the most common. Currently, there are many assisted reproductive techniques (ART) available to combat the burden of infertility. However, positive results are not guaranteed. The administration of inositol has been shown to increase positive reproductive outcomes in women undergoing ART. Here we present a series of clinical cases in which women with a history of infertility and previously failed ART, supplement

Synthesis of high-affinity fluorine-functionalized covalent organic framework/graphene oxide by one-pot method for rapid shaker-assisted dispersive filter extraction of fluorine-containing pesticides in medicinal and edible homologous foods.

Excessive residues of fluorine-containing pesticides in medicinal and edible homologous foods pose significant food safety risks. To address this challenge, a high-affinity fluorine-functionalized covalent organic framework/graphene oxide composite (FCOF/GO) was synthesized through a facile one-pot approach. FCOF/GO demonstrates exceptional fluorine-containing pesticide adsorption capacity attributed to its fluorine-rich active sites, coupled with advantageous structural features including high surface area (469.8 m2/g), monodisperse nanopores (∼2.6 nm), and enhanced mass transfer kinetics.
