We present the design, fabrication, and experimental demonstration of a large-area, high-transmittance metasurface hologram capable of reconstructing naked-eye-viewable 3D images and dynamic holographic movies. Our approach employs electron beam lithography using the character projection (CP) method to realize rapid, large-area nanopatterning of SiN-based meta-atoms, enabling a device area exceeding previous metasurface holography demonstrations. The metasurface exhibits high optical transmittance of up to 79 % at the wavelength of 532 nm. Furthermore, we demonstrate a holographic movie consis

Superior sinus venosus defect is characterized by varying degrees of override of the atrial septum by the superior vena cava and anomalous right upper pulmonary vein (RUPV) drainage. The defect is seen posterosuperior to the oval fossa and is traditionally corrected by a surgical patch that routes the anomalously draining RUPV to the left atrium. A few postoperative patients develop stenosis or occlusion of the caval or pulmonary vein and/or sick sinus syndrome secondary to vascular injury. This has kindled a recent interest in nonsurgical correction of these defects by the use of a covered st

A full label-free morphological and biochemical characterization is desirable to select spermatozoa during preparation for artificial insemination. In order to study these fundamental parameters, we take advantage of two attractive techniques: digital holography (DH) and Raman spectroscopy (RS). DH presents new opportunities for studying morphological aspect of cells and tissues non-invasively, quantitatively and without the need for staining or tagging, while RS is a very specific technique allowing the biochemical analysis of cellular components with a spatial resolution in the sub-micromete

The choroid, a highly vascularized tissue, supplies the outer retina and is responsible for other functions such as thermoregulation, secretion of growth factors, and possibly emmetropization. Choroidal changes, therefore, may play a role in various chorioretinal diseases. The recent surge in publications focusing on the choroid can be attributed to improvements in both resolution and field of view of optical coherence tomography and indocyanine green angiography. Advancements in imaging have transitioned from manual to semi-automated and now fully automated methods for qualitative and quantit

Dysfunction of prosthetic heart valves is a common complication after heart valve replacement, affecting both biologic and mechanical prostheses. A preoperative, non-destructive test of each individual valve may help to prevent the implantation of a valve which has material weaknesses. To this end we developed a technique for testing heart valve prostheses by holographic interferometry. The advantage of this technique is that it provides a non-contact, non-destructive, highly sensitive three dimensional analysis of the valve under loading. Samples of several mechanical and biologic valve subst

A digital holographic interferometer is used to measure surface deformation and fracture points in hen eggs under mechanical compression. All samples were subjected to a constant compression load until they fractured. Three different tests are performed to analyze the eggs' mechanical response. In the first test, the egg is vertically oriented, and so the applied load; meanwhile, for the second test, the egg is horizontally oriented with the load applied vertically. The third test keeps the egg horizontal, but on this occasion, the applied load is also horizontal. As the mechanical load is app

The research on the effects of 3D holographic technology on learning and emotional intelligence is very scarce. This study was based on the study that examined the influence of hologram technology in instruction on the level of self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and motivation among the students. It adopted a quasi-experimental design with participants randomly assigned either to the experimental group, using holograms in instruction, or to the control group, using traditional learning treatment. A total of 138 students (69 students in each group). The results of the study show

The detection of biological nanoparticles (NPs), such as viruses and extracellular vesicles (EVs), plays a critical role in medical diagnostics. However, these particles are optically faint, making microscopic detection in complex solutions challenging. Recent advancements have demonstrated that distinguishing between metallic and dielectric signals with twilight off-axis holographic microscopy makes it possible to differentiate between metal and biological NPs and to quantify complexes formed from metal and biological NPs binding together. Here, this method is employed to investigate complex

The incidence of urothelial carcinoma continues to rise annually, particularly among the elderly. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can significantly enhance patient survival and quality of life. Urine cytology remains a widely-used early screening method for urothelial carcinoma, but it still has limitations including sensitivity, labor-intensive procedures, and elevated cost. In recent developments, microfluidic chip technology offers an effective and efficient approach for clinical urine specimen analysis. Digital holographic microscopy, a form of quantitative phase imaging technology, capture

The use of femtosecond laser radiation in digital lensless holographic microscopy (DLHM) to image biological samples is presented. A mode-locked Ti:Sa laser that emits ultrashort pulses of 12 fs intensity FWHM, with 800 nm mean wavelength, at 75 MHz repetition rate is used as a light source. For comparison purposes, the light from a light-emitting diode is also used. A section of the head of a drosophila melanogaster fly is studied with both light sources. The experimental results show very different effects of the pinhole size on the spatial resolution with DLHM. Unaware phenomena on the fiel

Holographic imaging in microscopy enables label-free quantitative information of biological specimens and has found applications across a wide range of biomedical studies, from cell morphology to particle dynamics; yet its widespread adoption is often limited by the lack of accessible and standardized analysis software. We present HoloBio, an open-source, Python-based graphical user interface developed to address this issue. This software offers two primary operational modes: a Real-Time mode that enables live processing of holograms at video frame rates, and an Offline mode designed for post-

Augmented-reality (AR) applications have shown potential for assisting and modulating gait in health-related fields, like AR cueing of foot-placement locations in people with Parkinson's disease. However, the size of the AR field of view (AR-FOV), which is smaller than one's own FOV, might affect interaction with nearby floor-based holographic objects. The study's primary objective was to evaluate the effect of AR-FOV size on the required head orientations for viewing and interacting with real-world and holographic floor-based objects during standstill and walking conditions. Secondary, we eva

We present a cost-effective and portable platform based on contact lenses for noninvasively detecting Staphylococcus aureus, which is part of the human ocular microbiome and resides on the cornea and conjunctiva. Using S. aureus-specific antibodies and a surface chemistry protocol that is compatible with human tears, contact lenses are designed to specifically capture S. aureus. After the bacteria capture on the lens and right before its imaging, the captured bacteria are tagged with surface-functionalized polystyrene microparticles. These microbeads provide sufficient signal-to-noise ratio fo

Exceptional points in non-Hermitian photonics provide singular responses for topological light-field control. Yet, converting such singular responses into coupled control over multiple optical degrees of freedom remains a central challenge. Here, based on a plasmonic non-Hermitian metasurface described by a reflection Jones matrix, we theoretically and experimentally reveal the parameter-space topology associated with zero-eigenvalue exceptional points. In this regime, zero-eigenvalue degeneracy preserves the singular topological features of non-Hermitian systems while elevating controllabilit

Physics-based neuromorphic computing promises major gains in performance and energy efficiency, but training remains largely in silico, requiring costly physical modeling and suffering from fabrication-induced errors. Here we introduce on-chip, in situ physical gradient descent (INSPIRE), a general training method for photonic integrated circuits. INSPIRE uses on-chip synthetic time-reversal holography to measure the full complex fields of bidirectional photonic modes, enabling gradient computation and parameter updates directly in the physical system. The framework is topology-agnostic and co

With the increasing demand for tunable optical functionalities, metasurfaces capable of dynamic wave control have attracted growing attention. Compared with reconfigurable designs that rely on external stimuli, incident-light-modulated multiplexed metasurfaces offer a unique scalable pathway for achieving tunable functionalities. In this work, based on multiplexed metasurface schemes, we show hybrid multiplexing of polarization, wavelength, and orbital angular momentum (OAM) can be applied for dynamic tuning. We start to demonstrate a noise-engineered metasurface platform that supports dynamic

Accurate in-situ volume measurement of small (1 mm-10 cm) drifting underwater particles is critical for marine ecology and pollutant monitoring, yet it demands snapshot 3D imaging to avoid motion artifacts. Existing imaging techniques-including digital holography and conventional light field imaging-face a fundamental limitation in recovering the complete surface geometry of opaque and semi-transparent particles due to optical occlusion and limited perspective sampling. We overcome this challenge with a face-to-face dual light field camera (F2F-DLFC) system, which simultaneously captures both
