BACKGROUND: Given the severe economic and performance implications of hamstring injuries, there are different attempts to identify their risk factors for subsequently developing injury prevention strategies to reduce the risk of these injuries. One of the strategies reported in the scientific literature is the application of interventions with eccentric exercises. To verify the effectiveness of these interventions, different eccentric strength measurements have been used with low-cost devices as alternatives to the widespread used isokinetic dynamometers and the technically limited handheld dy

BACKGROUND: Muscle strength is a key functionality indicator and can be objectively assessed using isokinetic dynamometry (IKD). However, IKD evaluation of the upper limb remains clinically challenging as in research settings.
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the test-retest reliability of IKD measurements for the shoulder, elbow, forearm, and wrist at different speeds, as well as for isometric handgrip strength.
METHODS: Isokinetic strength and isometric handgrip assessments were performed using the Biodex System 4 Pro™ and the Jamar™ dynamometer. Participants were tested twice with a 7-day interval.

INTRODUCTION: Cycling performance is influenced by hip flexor and extensor muscle strength. While belt stabilised handheld dynamometers (B-HHD) are valid for measuring isometric hip muscle strength, fixed frame dynamometers are becoming popular, offering potentially better stability and reliability. However, the reliability of both devices has not been examined in cyclists. This study evaluated the test-retest reliability and agreement between a B-HHD (MicroFET2, Hoggan Scientific) and a fixed-frame dynamometer (ForceFrame (FF) Max, Vald Performance) for hip flexion and extension peak force me

CONTEXT: The hip adductor and abductor muscles play vital roles as stabilizers in the lower-extremity. Their activation during soccer-specific actions is essential, but local muscular fatigue can hinder athletic performance and increase the risk of injury.
DESIGN: This study aimed to observe the variations in frontal plane hip strength in female college soccer players before and after a high-workload soccer-specific training session. Furthermore, the study sought to compare the relative changes in hip strength with the internal and external load measures obtained during that session.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Dynamic handgrip strength endurance is essential for daily activities that require repetitive gripping movements for a sustained period. At this time, there is no information about the reliability of measurement of dynamic handgrip strength endurance in older individuals. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the test-retest reliability of dynamic handgrip strength endurance in older women.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was performed. Thirty older women aged 70.5 (3.6) years performed 2 assessment sessions (test and retest), separated by 3 days. During

Lower limb isometric strength is crucial for predicting diseases, monitoring rehabilitation, and assessing activity levels. Manual testing lacks quantitative evaluation, while handheld dynamometers (HHDs) require skilled raters and isokinetic dynamometers are expensive and complex. Existing devices often focus on single-joint measurements for specific populations. To address the need for multi-joint quantitative muscle strength assessment, along with portability, affordability, and ease of use, this study developed the isometric dynamometer for the lower extremity (IDLE) to measure hip flexion
