[Hydrolysis of methoxysubstituted phenylureas, acylanilides and phenylcarbamates by a microbial aryl acylamidase (author's transl)].

The phenylurea herbicide linuron is hydrolyzed by Bacillus sphaericus ATCC 12123 quantitatively forming 3,4-dichloroaniline, CO2, and N,O-dimethylhydroxylamine. The inducible enzyme responsible for this hydrolysis was purified to homogeneity as judged by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Its molecular weight was 75 000 +/- 10%. Studies on its substrate specificity showed that either whole cells as the linuron-induced enzyme hydrolyze a large number of herbicidal and fungicidal acylanilides, the methoxysubstituted phenylureas and the phenylcarbamate propham at the carbonyl-aniline bond. Enantiomer separation on novel cellulose derivatives bearing regioselective phenylcarbamate groups.

Four novel regioselectively carbamoylated cellulose derivatives with two types of substituents, one being a 3-chloro-4-methylphenylcarbamate group and the other being a phenylcarbamate, a 3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamate or a 4-methylphenylcarbamate group, at the 2-, 3-positions and 6-position were synthesized and utilized as chiral stationary phases in high-performance liquid chromatography. The obtained derivatives exhibited characteristic chiral recognition abilities which were significantly affected by the nature and arrangement of the groups at the 2-, 3-positions and 6-position. Synthesis of substituted phenylcarbamates of N-cyclobutylformylated chitosan and their application as chiral selectors in enantioseparation.

The goal of this study was to develop new chiral stationary phases (CSPs) with high chiral recognition capability and high compatibility with the so-called "nonstandard solvents". Seven new chitosan bis(phenylcarbamate)-(N-cyclobutylformamide) derivatives were synthesized from chitosan with high degree of deacetylation as a starting material. The corresponding chiral stationary phases (CSPs 1-7) were prepared with the chitosan derivatives as chiral selectors (CSs). The enantioseparation capability of CSPs 1-7 was evaluated by high performance liquid chromatography with nineteen analytes. In co

Chiral separation of helical chromenes with chloromethyl phenylcarbamate polysaccharide-based stationary phases.

Two chloromethyl phenylcarbamate-based chiral stationary phases, one containing an amylose-type chiral selector (Lux Amylose 2, from Phenomenex) and the other a cellulose-type one (Lux Cellulose-4, from Phenomenex), were successfully used for the chiral resolution of three helical chromenes featuring a helicene-like structure. The compound bearing a phenyl substituent on the helicene-like structure was enantioresolved at 25°C with Lux Cellulose-4 and a n-hexane/1-propanol 99:1 v/v eluent. With a n-hexane/2-propanol 99.8:0.2 v/v mobile phase, the same column (operated at 35°C) provided the sepa

Long-acting anticholinesterases for myasthenia gravis: synthesis and activities of quaternary phenylcarbamates of neostigmine, pyridostigmine and physostigmine.

The N-monophenylcarbamate analogues of neostigmine methyl sulfate (6) and pyridostigmine bromide (8) together with their precursors (5), (7), and the N(1)-methylammonium analogues of (-)-phenserine (12), (-)-tolserine (14), (-)-cymserine (16) and (-)-phenethylcymserine (18) were synthesized to produce long-acting peripheral inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase or butyrylcholinesterase. Evaluation of their cholinesterase inhibition against human enzyme ex vivo demonstrated that, whereas compounds 5-8 possessed only marginal activity, 12, 14, 16 and 18 proved to be potent anticholinesterases. Orthogonal Agent Comprising a Nitrile N-Oxide and a Phenylcarbamate for Facile Molecular Integration on Styrne-Butadiene Resin.

The covalent attachment of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEGylation) to materials minimizes non-specific fouling of the material surface with biocomponents. While the PEGylation reaction on polar surfaces is widely used and regarded as a common technique, the PEGylation on less polar polymers and elastomers is extremely difficult due to the absence of reactive points with PEG terminus. Herein, the design and synthesis of an orthogonal agent with a nitrile N-oxide and a phenyl carbamate that can mediate between an alkene and an amine are reported. The ligation capacity of the orthogonal agent is demon

Analysis of structure-activity relationship of indol-3-yl-N-phenylcarbamic amides as potent STING inhibitors.

A structure-activity relationship (SAR) study of stimulator of interferon gene (STING) inhibition was performed using a series of indol-3-yl-N-phenylcarbamic amides and indol-2-yl-N-phenylcarbamic amides. Among these analogs, compounds 10, 13, 15, 19, and 21 inhibited the phosphorylation of STING and interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) to a greater extent than the reference compound, H-151. All five analogs showed stronger STING inhibition than H-151 on the 2',3'-cyclic GMP-AMP-induced expression of interferon regulatory factors (IRFs) in a STINGR232 knock-in THP-1 reporter cell line. [Adsorption of substances on active charcoal. Part 1: Basic esters of phenylcarbamic acid with local anaesthetic effect].

Active charcoal is one of important adsorbents capable of binding on their surface other substances in a relatively large amount. This property is often used in pharmacy as well as in the studies of the structure--biological activity relationships, where active charcoal serves as a model substance for the study of hyrophobic interactions. The present paper investigates the adsorptivity of eight potential local anaesthetics from the group of 1-methyl-2-piperidinoethylesters of 2-, 3- and 4-alkoxyphenylcarbamic acids to adjusted active charcoal, which complies with the requirements of Slovak Pha

[Local anesthetics. VXII. Preparation and effectiveness of dibasic alkylesters of 2-, and 3-alkoxy-substituted phenylcarbamic acids].

In a series of 24 compounds of the type of dibasic alkylesters of 2-, and 3-alkoxy substituted phenylcarbamic acids, esterified alcohols 1-dipropylamino-3-pyrrolidino (piperidino or perhydroazepino)-2-propanol were used. It follows from the results of pharmacological evaluation that these compounds possess a high index of effectiveness in surface and infiltration anaesthesia compared to the standards of cocaine and procaine. Maximum effectiveness in surface anaesthesia was shown by [1-dipropylaminomethyl)-2- (piperidino)ethyl]-ester of 3-butoxyphenylcarbamic acids whose activity is as much as

[Local anesthetics. CVI. Preparation and effect of (+/-)-trans-[2-(piperidinomethyl) cyclopentyl] alkyl, alkoxy and halogen substituted esters of phenylcarbamic acid].

Within the framework of the research of potential local anaesthetics, five compounds from the group of (+/-)-trans-[2-(piperidino-methyl)cyclopentyl]alkyl, alkoxy and chloroalkyl esters of phenylcarbamic acid were prepared. The final compounds were obtained by addition of (+/-)-trans-2-(piperidinomethyl)cyclopentanol to the corresponding substituted phenylisocyanates. They were isolated in the form of salts with hydrochloric acid. Their structure was confirmed on the basis of interpretation of the results of UV and IR spectra. A pharmacological evaluation revealed that the final compounds were

A study of the action of a bisquaternary ammonium salt, an amine oxide and an alkoxy phenylcarbamic acid ester on some metabolic functions in Staphylococcus aureus.

Aspects of the mode of action of three antibacterial agents, N,N'-bis (dodecyldimethyl)-1,2-ethane diammonium dibromide (BDED), 2-piperidinoethyl-4-heptyloxyphenylcarbamate hydrochloride (XXI) and 1-dodecylpiperidine N-oxide (DPNO) against Staphylococcus aureus have been examined. Their ability to modify respiration, proton translocation, potassium leakage and ATP synthesis are reported. In all cases there was a striking correspondence between the minimum inhibitory concentration and the dose level which completely prevented ATP synthesis. It is suggested that for these three chemically distin

Discovery of (4-Phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)methyl Phenylcarbamate as Potent Dual-Inhibitors Targeting Phytoene Desaturase and ζ-Carotene Desaturase.

The development of dual-target herbicides provides an effective approach to emerging weed resistance. Given the high structural similarity of phytoene desaturase (PDS) and ζ-carotene desaturase (ZDS), it is possible to explore the dual-inhibitors targeting PDS and ZDS with high potency. In this work, two series of compounds (I-1 to I-20; II-1 to II-20) were designed and synthesized from our previously reported lead compound 8e. The bioassay results indicated that II-13 exhibited the highest postemergence herbicidal activity (95%) against three dicotyledonous weeds and 85% against the monocotyl

Study of local anaesthetics, Part 146: Correlation between local anaesthesia, coded structural information, and chromatographic properties for homologous series of alkoxysubstituted esters of phenylcarbamic acid using a neural network.

RP HPLC capacity factors were used for the characterisation of the lipophilicity of homologous series of o- and m- alkoxy-substituted pyrolidino-, piperidino-, and N-methylpiperazino esters of phenylcarbamic acid. The mathematical method of a neural network was employed for supplementing of the incomplete original data matrix and for smoothing the biological data. The dependencies of the number of carbon atoms in the alkoxy side chain (resp. LC capacity factors) on the surface anaesthesia for the homologous series have parabolic character. The surface anaesthetic activity of the o-alkoxy-subst
