BACKGROUND: Foramen magnum meningiomas (FMMs) represent significant neurosurgical challenge because of their intimate relationship with highly functional and vital neurovascular structures.
METHOD: We discuss and illustrate technical nuances to resect type 3 FMMs with anterolateral dural attachment, causing compression and displacement of the medulla oblongata, accessory nerve and upper cervical spinal cord, with encasement of vertebral artery, through far lateral approach.

A 52-year-old male was diagnosed with primary liver cancer in June 2021 after experiencing abdominal pain and bloating. He had previously undergone resection for a Merkel cell tumor in March 2021, with no metastasis found. Three months later, imaging suggested a liver mass consistent with liver cancer. Lab tests showed elevated hepatitis B surface antigen (>130 IU/ml) and alpha-fetoprotein (24.54 IU/ml), and the imaging features resembled hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Finally,it was diagnosed as liver metastasis of Merkel cell carcinoma by pathology.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is known to be the most malignant gynecologic cancers. Wnt2B, a member of the Wnt family, plays a critical role in tumor development. Melanoma brain metastases (MBM) are associated with poor prognosis and remain a significant challenge in oncology. In recent years, significant progress has been made in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying MBM. Advances in targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) have significantly improved patient survival.
