Echographic and ophthalmometric in vivo studies concerning the axial length of the bulbus, the depth of the anterior chamber, the thickness of the lens as well as the radius and the power of refraction of the cornea were carried out on 24 eyes of 12 male inbred rabbits. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between central corneal thickness (CCT) and applanation intraocular pressure (IOP) in normal, glaucomatous, and ocular hypertensive eyes.
METHODS: One hundred nine subjects (184 eyes) were studied. Forty-eight patients (74 eyes) had glaucoma, 28 patients (51 eyes) had ocular hypertension, and 33 patients (59 eyes) were normal. METHODS: The population-based Ural Very Old Study (UVOS) included 1526 (81.1%) of 1882 eligible inhabitants aged ≥85 years. Assessable fundus images were available for 930 (60.9%) individuals (mean age, 88.6 ± 2.7 years). Elongation of the eye is one of the drawbacks of implanting intraocular lenses in children. To evaluate possible effects of cataract and aphakia on eye elongation, we measured the axial length in children with unilateral aphakia (15 children with congenital cataract and 27 with traumatic cataract) and in children with bilateral congenital cataract (operated on in 14 cases and not operated on in eight cases).
