Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) was introduced in Iwate Medical University Hospital from June in 2003. After introduction of DPC, the clinical income for in-patients was increased by 5.5%, and the total number of laboratory examination tests was unchanged. A ten-year retrospective review of laboratory detection of Cryptococcus neoformans in cerebrospinal fluid was undertaken using past laboratory and clinical records at Kenyatta National Hospital. In mailed blood samples from 602 adult patients with beta-thalassaemia trait, a mean MCH value of 20.5 pg with a 2 s range of 17-24 pg was found.
