OBJECTIVE: Flexible endoscopic laser surgery (FELS) is able to overcome some limitations of traditional transoral CO2 laser surgery. The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of FELS in the treatment of T1-T2 glottic carcinoma.
METHODS: We applied FELS for 120 patients with T1-T2 glottic carcinoma. Tumour ablation was performed with Nd:YAG laser. In 76 (63.3%) cases the intervention was performed under local anesthesia. Twenty nine (24.2%) patients (T1b - 2, T2-27) underwent postoperative radiation therapy (RT).

This retrospective study aims to evaluate the efficacy of flexible intramedullary (IM) nails as a fixation device of paediatric femoral shaft fractures. A total of 36 children with 37 closed fractures were treated by this method. The patients ranged in age from 7.2 to 13.5 years and the mean follow-up was 25.5 months. PURPOSE: To evaluate the relationship between β-zone parapapillary atrophy (βPPA) and corneal hysteresis (CH) in patients with glaucoma.
DESIGN: Prospective, cross-sectional study.
METHODS: Glaucoma patients aged 18 to 90 years with disc photographs within 12 months of the study visit were consecutively enrolled. Exclusion criteria included ocular surgery other than clear corneal phacoemulsification, myopia >6 diopters, contact lens use, and corneal abnormality. This study evaluated the oxide characteristics on a Ag-Sn particle surface modified by acid and heat in order to understand the bonding mechanism.
