BACKGROUND: Patients of color are disproportionately impacted by vitiligo. Access to treatment depends greatly on insurance coverage. We, therefore, assessed current vitiligo treatment coverage policies across major United States health insurers to determine current patterns and coverage gaps for vitiligo.

Corneal dystrophies are a rare group of hereditary disorders, that are bilateral, non-inflammatory, and progressive. BACKGROUND: The authors investigated the refractive treatment of keratoconus to give patients better and more comfortable vision with and without glasses or soft contact lenses.
METHODS: Patients with spectacle-corrected visual acuity worse than 20/40 and conus apex greater than 350-micron thick were treated. We used the Nidek EC-5000 excimer laser with a 130-mm plate and special multi-design masks for the conus treatment and the Chiron ALK microkeratome. PURPOSE: We performed zonal excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy in three eyes of three presbyopic patients using a specially designed mask, with a minimum follow-up of 24-months.
METHODS: Two females (ages 59 and 48) and one male (age 55) were included in the study.
