Recyclable Polymerizable Deep Eutectic Solvent-Based Three-Dimensional-Printed Dissolving Microneedles with pH-Responsive Delivery of ZIF-8-Loaded Minoxidil for Hair Loss Therapy.

Hair loss remains a prevalent dermatological concern with limited options for targeted, sustained transdermal therapy. Conventional topical formulations of minoxidil (MXD) suffer from poor skin penetration, rapid clearance, and low patient compliance. To address these limitations, we developed a three-dimensional-printed, dissolving microneedle (MN) system featuring a novel layered design: a recyclable polymerizable deep eutectic solvent (PDES) base and detachable, pH-responsive tips loaded with MXD-encapsulated ZIF-8 nanoparticles. This design allows for rapid insertion and dissolution of the

A biomechanical comparison between cement packing combined with extra fixation and three-dimensional printed strut-type prosthetic reconstruction for giant cell tumor of bone in distal femur.

BACKGROUND: The most common reconstruction method for bone defects caused by giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is cement packing combined with subchondral bone grafting and extra fixation. However, this method has several limitations involving bone cement and bone graft, which may lead to poor prognosis and joint function. A titanium-based 3D-printed strut-type prosthesis, featured with excellent biocompatibility and osseointegration ability, was developed for this bone defect in our institution. The goal of this study is to comparatively analyze the biomechanical performance of reconstruction m

Accuracy of non-medical and medical individuals in identifying cerebral cortical abnormality from three-dimensional printed models of magnetic resonance images in children with hypoxic ischemic injury.

Effective communication of imaging findings in term hypoxic ischemic injury to family members, non-radiologist colleagues and members of the legal profession can be extremely challenging through text-based radiology reports. Utilization of three-dimensional (D) printed models, where the actual findings of the brain can be communicated via tactile perception, is a potential solution which has not yet been tested in practice. We aimed to determine the sensitivity and specificity of different groups, comprising trained radiologists, non-radiologist physicians and non-physicians, in the detection

Three-Dimensional Printed Photo-Cross-Linked Gelatin Methacrylate Hydrogel Scaffold-Incorporated Mitochondria-Targeted Hydrogen Sulfide Donor-Loaded Liposomes for Spinal Cord Injury Repair.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) results in severe mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and excessive generation of reactive oxygen species at the lesion site. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has been shown to promote mitochondrial functional recovery. AP39, a mitochondria-targeted small-molecule H2S donor, holds therapeutic potential but suffers from a short half-life and rapid metabolism. To enhance its stability and cellular uptake, AP39 was encapsulated within liposomes (AP39@LIP). Furthermore, gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) was employed to encapsulate AP39@LIP, and an AP39@LIP-GelMA hydrogel scaffol

Three-dimensional printed bulking agents reduce antibiotic resistance genes in swine manure aerobic composting by regulating oxygen concentration to alter host microorganisms and mobile genetic elements.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in manure aerobic composting are a potential environmental pollutant. Therefore, reducing the abundance of ARGs is crucial. The effects of adding three-dimensional printed bulking agents (3DBAs) on ARGs in aerobic composting of swine manure were investigated in this study. Compared with the control group, 3DBAs with different addition dosages can greatest reduce the total ARGs by 5.98%, tetracycline resistance genes by 14.02%, macrolide resistance genes by 9.65%, and sulfonamide resistance genes by 20.59%. By further combining physicochemical parameters, host
