PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe 5 cases (10 eyes) that, following purely cosmetic femtosecond laser-assisted keratopigmentation (KTP), showed evolution toward corneal ectasia during a variable postoperative period.

PURPOSE: To report a case of corneal scarring following collagen cross linking in a young female.
METHODS: A 24-year-old female presented to us with complaints of decreased vision and a white spot in her left eye following collagen cross linking (CXL) performed elsewhere, four years prior. We diagnosed her as a case of left eye leucomatous corneal opacity for which she underwent optical penetrating keratoplasty under local anaesthesia. The excised corneal tissue was evaluated by routine histopathology and immunohistochemistry.

PURPOSE: To report 8 cases of fixed dilated pupilla (FDP) (Urrets-Zavalia syndrome) following deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) with Descemet membrane (DM) perforation and change of management to avoid FDP.

We report four cases of Urrets-Zavalia Syndrome (fixed dilated pupil with iris atrophy) observed after penetrating keratoplasty. The precise etiology of the syndrome is uncertain and different mechanisms are reviewed. Care should be taken to avoid the use of mydriatic eye drops after penetrating keratoplasty.

Endogenous eczema represents a considerable risk for perforating keratoplasty because of the associated chronic surface disorders and complex immunological disturbances. Between December 1986 through October 1991 we performed 24 perforating keratoplasties in 20 eyes of 18 patients with endogenous eczema suffering from keratokonus, atopic keratokonjunctivitis and bullous keratopathy after intracapsular cataract extraction.
