BACKGROUND: Although levodopa is considered the most effective pharmacotherapy for motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), chronic use is associated with motor complications, including fluctuating response and unpredictable, involuntary movements called dyskinesia. ADS-5102 (amantadine) extended-release (ER) capsules (GOCOVRITM) is a recent US FDA-approved treatment for dyskinesia in PD patients. PURPOSE: To determine the bioavailability and pharmacokinetic profile of lumiracoxib from different sites in the gastrointestinal tract.

Clindamycin hydrochloride capsules (11 mg/kg body weight, q24 h) were administered orally to 20 dogs with deep staphylococcal pyoderma. Response to therapy was excellent in 100% of the dogs. Duration of therapy varied from 21 to 91 d, with an average duration of 45 d. Relapses occurred in 25% of the dogs within a 3-month period. One dog vomited when the clindamycin was given on an empty stomach. Under the conditions of the study, clindamycin was an effective, safe, and convenient antibiotic for the treatment of deep staphylococcal pyoderma in dogs.

A high-dose double-blind trial of carbenoxolone sodium capsules (Duogastrone) in the treatment of duodenal ulceration was combined with endoscopic diagnosis and follow-up. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the biomechanical characteristics of a fascia lata superior capsule reconstruction (FL-SCR) to the native superior capsule.
METHODS: The native superior capsule of 8 cadaveric shoulders was tested with cyclic loading from 10 to 50 N for 30 cycles in 20° of glenohumeral abduction followed by load to failure at 60 mm/min. BACKGROUND: Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) represents a major contributor to liver fibrosis globally, and current therapeutic options remain inadequate. The TGF-β/Smad4 cascade is critically involved in alcohol-evoked activation of hepatic stellate cells and subsequent extracellular matrix accumulation. Although Shenze Shugan capsule (SZSG) has been clinically used for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, its efficacy and mechanisms in ALD are unclear.
