PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with increased risk of progression to end-stage kidney disease and cardiovascular events. There is limited evidence that available treatments have beneficial effects on cardiorenal outcomes in all people with nondiabetic CKD.
