Meiosis is a cell division process with complex chromosome events where various molecules must work in tandem. AIMS: De novo CD5-positive diffuse large B cell lymphoma (CD5+DLBL) is a subtype of DLBL with poor clinical outcome. To investigate the cytogenetic pathogenesis of CD5+DLBL, we analyzed the chromosomal findings of 18 patients with CD5+DLBL.
METHODS: Tumor cells were cultured and metaphase was captured by colchicine exposure. Using trypsin-Giemsa banding, the chromosomes were analyzed according to the International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature.

An Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) study on Dicentric Chromosome Assay (DCA) was carried out between two Indian biodosimetry labs. Human peripheral blood samples exposed to 10 different doses of X-rays up to 5Gy were shared between the labs to generate calibration data. The incidence of chromosomal aberrations was analysed in peripheral blood lymphocytes of occupationally exposed people having cumulative doses of 500 mSv. Cytogenetic studies were carried out on 180 oocytes that appeared unfertilized after in-vitro fertilization. The majority of the 135 that were informative had grossly haploid second meiotic metaphases, two were grossly diploid, and five had a variety of different abnormalities. We report in detail two series of chorionic villus cultivation for prenatal chromosomal diagnosis. Chorionic villi were sampled from both first- and second-trimester pregnancies. One hundred cultures were treated with trypsin-EDTA for 2 h and collagenase overnight, (method A) and 100 were treated with trypsin-EDTA for 1 h and collagenase for 2 h (method B). We have attempted to analyse the chromosome constitution of multipronuclear 1-cell zygotes obtained after partial zona dissection (PZD) of the oocytes. Six cells with three pronuclei could not be evaluated whereas another one was characterized by the presence of a normal haploid and two uninterpretable metaphases.
