BACKGROUND: Multifocal intraocular lenses (MF-IOLs) have been developed to enhance far, intermediate, and near vision postoperatively of cataract surgery patients. This study investigates the improvement of visual function in cataract patients with poor or failed neural adaptation after MF-IOL implantation through perceptual training.
METHODS: This study enrolled 28 patients. Twenty patients underwent perceptual training, while eight served as a control group. The training included three approaches. Visual Function Index 14 (VF-14) was used to assess visual function before and after training.
