Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare form of diffuse LBCL. The patient was a 71-year-old female admitted to our hospital with hypoxia. On admission, chest computed tomography revealed a ground-glass opacity. Interstitial pneumonia associated with systemic scleroderma was suspected because of positive anti-centromere antibody. A 55-year-old healthy man presented with redness and pain in both eyes and was diagnosed with bilateral scleritis. A year later impairment of ocular movement and cervical adenopathy appeared. Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is an extramedullary myeloid tumor that sometimes presents with antedating systemic leukemia, leading physicians to the misdiagnosis of lymphoma. The relationship between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 and human cytomegalovirus (CMV) was studied in blood, saliva, and cervicovaginal lavage (CVL) specimens from 33 HIV-1-infected women. Four patients with chronic or smouldering type adult T cell leukaemia (ATL) were treated by extracorporeal photochemotherapy (photopheresis). From 4 to 8 months after starting photo-pheresis, skin lesions with ATL cell infiltration began to disappear. Cell surface markers in three patients showed improvement. In one patient, a serial decrease of soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels (950 U/ml to 620) in the serum was observed after 4 months. OBJECTIVE: We investigated the pathophysiologic events in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a major complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).
METHODS: The experimental group included BALB/c female mice conditioned with 8.0 GY total body irradiation that were transplanted with allogeneic C57BL/6 male bone marrow cells (BMCs) plus CD4(+) T cells and CD8(+) T cells isolated from green fluorescent protein transgenic (eGFP-Tg) C57BL/6 male mice by the immunomagnetic beads negative sorting method.
