Salmonella Serovar Wiki: a curated web portal providing a comprehensive summary of Salmonella serovars for academia, industry, and public health.

Salmonella is a major foodborne pathogen causing substantial illness and economic burden globally. To address the lack of a centralized resource, we developed the Salmonella Serovar Wiki, a curated web portal providing comprehensive, serovar-specific information on more than 100 Salmonella serovars, including their geographical distribution, genomic characteristics, animal reservoirs, and outbreak history. Built on the Confluence platform, this Wiki consolidates data from sources such as the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S

Process Development for Adoptive Cell Therapy in Academia: A Pipeline for Clinical-Scale Manufacturing of Multiple TCR-T Cell Products.

Cellular immunotherapies based on T cell receptor (TCR) transfer are promising approaches for the treatment of cancer and chronic viral infections. The discovery of novel receptors is expanding considerably; however, the clinical development of TCR-T cell therapies still lags. Here we provide a pipeline for process development and clinical-scale manufacturing of TCR-T cells in academia. We utilized two TCRs specific for hepatitis C virus (HCV) as models because of their marked differences in avidity and functional profile in TCR-redirected cells. With our clinical-scale pipeline, we reproduced

Building bridges between public health and computer science departments in academia to foster artificial intelligence knowledge and skills for the digital age.

The current communication gap between Public Health (PH) and Computer Science (CS) academics is striking: public health professionals speak in terms of incidence rates, risk factors, interventions, health systems, health policy, and equity, while computer scientists converse in neural networks, optimization functions, scalability, and computational complexity. This linguistic and cultural divide often prevents natural collaboration, leaving valuable opportunities unexplored. In this Artificial Intelligence (AI) era, regardless of whether they are in high-, middle-, or low-income countries, the

The challenge to identify sensitive safety biomarkers of peripheral neurotoxicity in the rat: A collaborative effort across industry and academia (IMI NeuroDeRisk project).

Peripheral nervous system (PNS) toxicity assessment in non-clinical safety studies is challenging and relies mostly on histopathological assessment. The present work aims to identify blood-based biomarkers that could detect peripheral neuropathy in rats upon exposure to neurotoxic compounds. Three anticancer agents (oxaliplatin, cisplatin, paclitaxel) and a developmental compound (NVS-1) were assessed in male rats (Wistar Han). Clinical and/or functional endpoints (i.e., electronic Von Frey, Cold Plate, and Paw Pressure tests) and blood biomarkers (i.e., neurofilament light chain (NfL), neurof
