The utility of fungi as stabilizing and reducing agents in the biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles is striking due to the production of large quantities of biomolecules of minute toxic residuals. During the current study, sunlight- and dark-assessed silver nanoparticles were synthesized from wasp nest fungus, Paecilomyces variotii, at different pHs. OBJECTIVES: To provide a basis for clinical management decisions in Paecilomyces variotii infection.
METHODS: Unpublished cases of invasive P. variotii infection from the FungiScope® registry and all cases reported in the literature were analysed.

BACKGROUND: Natural Cordyceps cicadae (C. cicadae) has been utilized extensively in traditional Chinese medicine to treat chronic renal diseases, heart palpitations, infantile convulsions, and dizziness. The ability of the heavy metal-tolerant fungus Paecilomyces marquandii to modulate whole cells fatty acid composition and saturation in response to IC50 of Cd, Pb, Zn, Ni, and Cu was studied. In vitro trials investigating the effects of albendazole and triclabendazole anthelmintics on the growth profiles of the egg-parasitic fungi Paecilomyces lilacinus and Verticillium chlamydosporium were undertaken.
