Tractional alopecia is a form of hair loss caused by prolonged tension on hair follicles, typically resulting from tight hairstyles. Although histopathological features of TA have been described, differentiation from other alopecias remains challenging. In this case series, we report a novel histopathological finding (Kamyab sign) characterized by the extrusion of sebaceous glands through the follicular infundibulum onto the skin surface.

Alopecia is highly prevalent and debilitating, yet current drugs provide limited, reversible benefit with notable side effects. We established a rapid protocol to generate human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived dermal papilla cells (hiPSC-DPCs) and demonstrated that their conditioned medium (CM) acts as a potent, cell-free hair-regenerative therapy. Transdermal delivery of hiPSC-DPCs or CM accelerated anagen re-entry and hair regrowth in depilated mice, and hiPSC-DPC CM outperformed minoxidil in promoting ex vivo hair-shaft elongation and in vitro proliferation and migration of primary DP

Seborrheic alopecia (SA) is one of the most common forms of hair loss with a complex pathogenesis involving multiple etiological factors. Although the scalp microbiome has been implicated in various scalp disorders, its specific role in the development and progression of SA remains incompletely understood. To characterize the scalp microbiome in SA, we performed high-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and ITS region on scalp samples from 41 Chinese SA participants before and after a 12-week intervention with a shampoo containing herbal extracts (ginger root, Polygonum multiflorum, and

Autoimmune/inflammatory syndrome induced by adjuvants (ASIA) is a clinically complex condition triggered in genetically predisposed individuals by substances such as silicone in breast implants. Although silicone implants have traditionally been considered inert, increasing evidence links them to autoimmune phenomena. This report presents a 56-year-old woman who experienced progressive muscle weakness, hand and facial edema, alopecia, and elevated creatine kinase levels one year after silicone implant exchange. A diagnosis of ASIA, complicated by Grade IV capsular contracture, was established

Oxytocin is a hormone produced during childbirth and lactation. Moreover, it is expressed in both men and women during physical contact with family members and pets. Oxytocin influences various organs and tissues, including the heart, digestive system, and reproductive organs. We recently demonstrated that oxytocin acts on hair follicles to promote hair growth. However, owing to its large molecular weight and poor skin permeability, small-molecule alternatives are required for its practical application as a hair growth-promoting agent. In this study, we comprehensively investigated molecules t

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of progressive hair loss and has substantial impact on quality of life. Conventional treatments, including minoxidil and finasteride, are limited by variable response rates and side effects. Exosomes, which are nanosized extracellular vesicles involved in cell-cell communications, have emerged as promising candidates in hair restoration. Preclinical studies indicate that exosomes can enhance hair follicle regeneration by promoting dermal papilla and outer root sheath cell proliferation and migration, increasing follicle bulb size and hair shaft el

Dissecting cellulitis of the scalp (DCS) is a rare, chronic inflammatory scalp disorder that is characterized by painful, recurrent nodules, abscesses, fistulas, and sinus tracts that can lead to scarring alopecia. We present the case of an 11-year-old Black female with painful, pruritic scalp nodules and hair loss of several months' duration. The patient's clinical and histopathologic presentation was consistent with DCS. After failure to improve with numerous oral/topical antibiotics and topical/intra-lesional corticosteroid therapies, the patient achieved an excellent clinical response to o

BACKGROUND: Elagolix and Myfembree are gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-pathway therapies used for endometriosis, but their post-marketing safety reporting patterns remain incompletely characterized. Because spontaneous reporting databases are susceptible to reporting bias and differential market exposure, comparative analyses require cautious interpretation.
METHODS: We analyzed quarterly data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) from 2015Q3 to 2026Q1. Deduplicated female reports with endometriosis-related indications were identified and classified as elagolix, Myfembree,

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a condition that predisposes patients to patterned hair loss across the scalp, significantly impacting self-esteem and mental health. Conventional treatments, including finasteride, a 5-alpha-reductase, and minoxidil, a topical vasodilator, have both shown inconsistent effectiveness and are associated with notable adverse effects. Botulinum toxin type A (BTA), a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, is widely used in cosmetic medicine for reducing facial wrinkles and is indicated for several medical conditions. It has been proposed that BTA

INTRODUCTION: Androgenic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of hair loss that occurs due to androgens, specially, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and the 5-alpha reductase is the key enzyme to control AGA, as it is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to DHT, the more potent form of testosterone involved in the pathogenesis of AGA. Blockers of this enzyme suppress the conversion of androgens to DHT. Dutasteride is one of the 5-alpha reductase inhibitors and is frequently used as an anti-hair loss treatment. Gamma-oryzanol (GO) is an anti-oxidant and anti-5-alpha reductase, which has b
