Effectiveness of three-dimensional printed cardiac models in teaching congenital heart anatomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Congenital heart disease challenges spatial understanding. 3D printed cardiac models are increasingly used, but randomized quantitative evidence remains limited. This review and meta-analysis evaluated their effectiveness for teaching congenital heart anatomy. PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched through November 12, 2025. RCTs comparing 3D-printed cardiac models with conventional instruction were included. The primary outcome was objective knowledge performance. SMDs were pooled using random-effects REML models. Risk of bias was assessed with RoB 2 and the certainty of evi

Enhancing Wear Resistance and Surface Hardness of Three-Dimensionally Printed Denture Teeth Through Post-Treatment Under Elevated Temperature and Pressure.

Three-dimensionally (3D)-printed denture teeth are increasingly used in clinical practice; however, their wear resistance and surface hardness may be insufficient for long-term clinical application. Moreover, the effect of post-treatment under elevated temperature and pressure on these properties remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of such post-treatment on the wear resistance and Vickers hardness of 3D-printed denture teeth resin. One hundred disk-shaped specimens (10 × 2 mm) were 3D-printed using Dima denture teeth resin and randomly assigned to four post-treatment group

Progress in three-dimensional (3D) printed foods for dysphagia patients: Food sources, processing techniques, printability, nutrition, acceptability, and safety aspects.

Dysphagia is a deglutition difficulty that is more prevalent among the elderly population. This review focused on progress in the development of 3D-printed foods (3DPFs) for dysphagia patients, specifically, on the type of food sources used, processing techniques involved, and the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) category, nutrition, acceptability, and safety aspects. Due to the unappetizing nature of typical dysphagia meals, 3D food printing (3DFP) is regarded as a promising technology for developing nutritious and appetizing meals for dysphagia patients. The ad

Three-Dimensional Printed Total Talus Replacement with a Concurrent Total Ankle Arthroplasty as a Personalized Approach for Advanced Ankle Osteoarthritis A Case Repor.

Ankle arthritis is becoming more common and can be pain-ful and debilitating. As the disease progresses, degenera-tive cystic changes may be found in the distal fibula, distal tibia, and talus. After failure of non-operative modalities, arthrodesis is often considered the surgical intervention of choice, but this leaves the patient with reduced range of motion, altered gait, and can negatively impact adjacent joints of the foot. Total ankle arthroplasty has been found to be an effective surgical option for ankle arthritis but is contraindicated in patients with talar collapse. When this is the

Evaluation of Different Root Canal Obturation Techniques in Internal Root Resorption of Three-Dimensional Printed Teeth Manufactured Using Computer Software.

The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the filling ability of various root canal obturation techniques on the internal root resorption (IRR) cavities of replicated tooth samples manufactured using computer software and a three-dimensional (3D) printer. Orthographic images and root structures of a healthy upper maxilla central incisor in determined volumes and sizes were drawn as a prototype with the aid of computer software. Using the same software, an IRR defect was also modeled. These two images were then transferred to the AutoDesk Fusion 360 3D modeling program (AutoDesk,

Meniscus-Climbing System Inspired 3D Printed Fully Soft Robotics with Highly Flexible Three-Dimensional Locomotion at the Liquid-Air Interface.

Soft robotics locomotion at the liquid-air interface has become more and more important for an intelligent society. However, existing locomotion of soft robotics is limited to two dimensions. It remains a formidable challenge to realize three-dimensional locomotion (X, Y, and Z axes) at the liquid-air two-phase interface due to the unbalanced mechanical environment. Inspired by meniscus-climbing beetle larva Pyrrhalta, the mechanism of a three-phase (liquid-solid-air) contact line is here proposed to address the aforementioned challenge. A corresponding 3D printed fully soft robotics (named la

Accuracy and safety of in-house surgeon-designed three-dimensional-printed patient-specific implants for wafer-less Le Fort I osteotomy.

OBJECTIVES: The design and fabrication of three-dimensional (3D)-printed patient-specific implants (PSIs) for orthognathic surgery are customarily outsourced to commercial companies. We propose a protocol of designing PSIs and surgical guides by orthognathic surgeons-in-charge instead for wafer-less Le Fort I osteotomy. The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the accuracy and post-operative complications of PSIs that are designed in-house for Le Fort I osteotomy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The post-operative cone beam computer tomography (CBCT) model of the maxilla was superimposed to t

A novel "three-dimensional-printed individual guide template-assisted percutaneous vertebroplasty" for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture: a prospective, controlled study.

BACKGROUND: Conventional percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) are mainly guided by C-arm fluoroscopy, and it usually leads to excessive X-ray radiation exposure to patients, surgeons, and anesthetists. Moreover, multi-time fluoroscope may prolong the operation time. 3D-printed template could help minimize fluoroscopy shot times and fluoroscopy dosage during operation, and shorten operation time. We perform this study to compare the efficacy and accuracy of PVP assisted by "three-dimensional printed individual guide template" versus conventional PVP. METHOD: Patients who suffered acute painful si
